Our team Rayce & Tonya travelled to Missoula, Montana to Inventory, Sort, and Organize the special service tools over at Missoula Chevrolet.
Rayce & Tonya worked hard for 8 days to transfer all their special service tools from shipping containers into the Tool Organization System.
The first step in the process is identifying each tool, adding them into inventory, then sorting them into numeric sequence. Once they have touched every tool they can begin to organize them into our system.
The Missoula Chevrolet system consists of 17 of our 4’ X 7’ pivoting panels for the essential tools to be hung on in numeric sequence. They also utilized our 6-tiered heavy duty shelving units which are caster mobile. This is where we put all their tool kits, cases, and some tools that cannot be hung.
Missoula Chevrolet was also outfitted with our rack and tote system. This system has many uses such as non-current tool storage, recommended tool storage, and transmission kit tool storage.
Rayce & Tonya utilized the rack and totes for their transmission kits on this project. We also provided this facility with our wall racks for their large engine fixtures.
Missoula's Tool Room After Organization
Once this project was completed Missoula Chevrolet knew what tools they have and what tools they do not have. Their tool inventory was then populated into Toolsguard. Toolsguard is an application that is on every technician’s smart phone.
When they need a tool, they log into their Toolsguard account with their personalized account. The technicians can now search through their inventory using tool numbers or descriptions. The app will tell them if they have the tool and where it is. It will also tell them if they do not have the tool.
When they find the tool that they need they check it out through the app, use the tool, then log back into the app to return the tool. All this data is tracked and can be seen by Missoula Chevrolets tool administrators.
This app will help maintain their organization system for years to come!
