Our A-Team traveled out to El Paso, Texas to perform a tool room organization project for Volkswagen / Mercedes-Benz.
Here is a walk-through of the completed tool organization project for Hoy Mercedes-Benz:
Below is the transcript of the above video of Woody (our tool organization specialist) walking you through the finished project.
Ok, we’re just wrapping up here at Hoy Mercedes-Benz & Volkswagen of El Paso. So, this is how it turned out.
This was sixteen panels and two pieces of wall-mount for the Mercedes-Benz. Shows you going down through there. Shows you what the panels look like. These panels are on twelve inch centers.
We mounted two pieces of wall-mount down here. We hung their fixtures up there. We also put their dog tags up there. This last panel, we labeled it and we put their cables on it.
We built them this little mobile cart and we put this big monster fixture on here that’s always a pain in the butt to get around.
Over here we have Mercedes-Benz optional cables and they are broke down by numbers.

And then, over here, we have Volkswagen. We used ten panels for Volkswagen, three shelves…three in a half shelves, the same as we used for Mercedes-Benz.
It shows you their shelves. We have all their kits labeled with descriptions and they are pretty much in a numerical sequence – the best we can do anyways.
Then we utilize this shelf here for their fixtures. We also…this rack was here when we got here, so we just re-used it, cleaned it up and put a piece of peg board back there. And we hung up some of the components for their engine stand.
We hung this big target fixture up down here. Built them this other half shelf, so they have a little table in here. And these would be the recommended tools for Volkswagen, and they are broke down by numbers.
This shows you their dog tag system. What we do is, we label them and then we’ll setup numbers for each one of their technicians. We have this setup over here for Volkswagen and then we have the same thing setup in Mercedes-Benz area.
Ok, with that, we worked with Willie and Adrian. Some great guys to work with. Just a great group of guys in here. So, this is how their tool room turned out. We’re in El Paso, Texas…this shows you their dog tags over there that I mentioned for Mercedes-Benz.
Let’s see…is there anything else? I don’t think so. We’re going to thank God for His help as always, and if you need your tool room organized, these are the people you contact.
Even if you need a consultation, they can direct what is going to be best for you. And, uh…that’s free! It’s free to call them. Free to ask questions. It’s even free to get a layout if you want the panel system.
